Orientally spiced, but so apply and plummy! Slightly salty and tart jam that goes well to a cheese platter with different kinds of cheese.

Remove cores from apples and pits from plums and chop them into smaller pieces.
Finely chop the onion.
Heat some oil in a saucepan.
Add the onions and salt. Mix and stew at medium heat until slightly transparent (adding salt will help to avoid the onions from burning).
Add sugar and let the onions caramelize. It will take approximately 5 minutes on medium heat.
Add apple and plum pieces and seasoning. Let the mixture come to a boil.
Decrease the heat and stew for about 20 minutes until soft.
Squash the mixture into a homogenous jam with the help of a spoon. If you do not like chunky jam, use a hand blender to puree the mixture.
Let cool and enjoy with cheese.
