30min
Easy

Orientally spiced, but so apply and plummy! Slightly salty and tart jam that goes well to a cheese platter with different kinds of cheese.

*divide the jams into small jars and close. This way it will be convenient to offer your homemade jam with cheese for your guests. Also ideal as a gift.

Quantity:  ~800 g

Ingredients

1
Large onion
400 g
Art apples
500 g
Plums
90 g
Brown sugar
2 tsp
Ground caraway seeds
5
Grains of allspice
0,5 tsp
Salt
0,5 tsp
Pepper
some
Olive oil

Preparation

1

Remove cores from apples and pits from plums and chop them into smaller pieces.

2

Finely chop the onion.

3

Heat some oil in a saucepan.

4

Add the onions and salt. Mix and stew at medium heat until slightly transparent (adding salt will help to avoid the onions from burning).

5

Add sugar and let the onions caramelize. It will take approximately 5 minutes on medium heat.

6

Add apple and plum pieces and seasoning. Let the mixture come to a boil.

7

Decrease the heat and stew for about 20 minutes until soft.

8

Squash the mixture into a homogenous jam with the help of a spoon. If you do not like chunky jam, use a hand blender to puree the mixture.

9

Let cool and enjoy with cheese.

Bon appetite!
